Mornings in my house aren’t very fun. I work the night shift so I don’t get home until almost 7am. By the time I’m feeling human again, it’s time to get my little one up and get her fed, same with my hubby. But lets be honest, I’m not in the mood at 7:30am to do any cooking. To the rescue, freezer breakfast sandwiches!
These puppies are so easy to make, and at $0.59 a sandwich, you really can’t go wrong!
Before you get too far into making these sandwiches, make sure you have space in your freezer to set the sandwiches.
Freezer Breakfast SandwichesMakes: 16 sandwiches (18 if you have extra biscuits/english muffins)
Reheat: Place sandwich on a microwave safe plate and heat for 30 seconds, covered with a paper towel. Heat in 10 second intervals until desired temperature is reached.
2- 8 Count Tubes of refrigerated biscuits
1 package of fully cooked, frozen breakfast sausage patties
16 slices american cheese
Bake the biscuits according to package directions and let cool. Once cool, slice each biscuit down the middle. Set out all the bottom slices on a large jelly roll pan or baking sheet that will fit in your freezer. Place one slice of American cheese on each bottom slice. On top of the cheese, place one piece of frozen sausage, then put on the top biscuit slice.
Put the tray or trays of sandwiches in the freezer for at least 20 minutes. My freezer had quite a bit of stuff in it, so I left mine in for 40 minutes.
Once they’ve been flash frozen, get out some plastic wrap or Press n’ Seal and wrap each sandwich individually. Place each sandwich into a freezer zip lock bag. I got about 6 sandwiches to a one gallon bag.
